Doctor’s Interrogation Leads to 300 kg RDX Haul Near Delhi: Major Anti-Terror Operation Unfolds

In one of the largest explosives recoveries in recent years, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have unearthed 300 kilograms of RDX, an AK-47 rifle, and a large cache of ammunition from Faridabad, Haryana, following crucial disclosures made by a Kashmiri doctor in custody.

Massive Recovery Based on Key Tip-Off

Officials confirmed that the operation was carried out after Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather provided detailed information during interrogation. Earlier, investigators had seized an AK-47 rifle and ammunition from a locker registered under his name in the Kashmir Valley.

According to police sources, Dr. Rather is suspected of facilitating the storage and transportation of arms and explosives outside Jammu and Kashmir. His interrogation has since led to the unearthing of a wider network believed to have links with Pakistan-based terror outfits.

Another Doctor Under Scanner

During the ongoing investigation, authorities also identified Dr. Muzamil Shakeel, a resident of Koil in Pulwama district, as another key suspect. Shakeel allegedly helped store the explosives and weapons in Faridabad.

Both individuals are currently in Jammu and Kashmir Police custody, as investigators probe what officials describe as a “critical terror logistics network” operating beyond the Union Territory’s borders.

Expanding Investigation and Possible Network

Sources said a wider nexus of medical professionals has come under scrutiny, with possible connections to banned terror organisations such as Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ghazwat-ul-Hind. More arrests and recoveries are expected as security agencies trace the network responsible for smuggling and hiding the arms cache across northern India.

The accused have been charged under Sections 7/25 of the Arms Act and Sections 13, 28, 38, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) — offences that carry severe penalties for aiding and abetting terrorism.

Valley-Wide Raids Continue

Meanwhile, an extensive anti-terror crackdown continues across Jammu and Kashmir. On Sunday, nine individuals — including a woman — were detained during coordinated raids in multiple districts.

Security forces launched search and cordon operations in Ramban, Kishtwar, Doda, Kathua, Reasi, Poonch, and Rajouri, after intelligence inputs indicated that militants active in higher mountain regions were seeking new hideouts in the plains with the onset of winter.

Officials described the Faridabad recovery as a significant intelligence-led success, suggesting that terror operatives had shifted their focus toward building logistical and storage bases outside conflict zones.

“This is one of the biggest seizures linked to the Valley in recent years. The investigation is expanding, and we expect more leads in the coming days,” a senior police officer said.

The bust marks a major step forward in the ongoing national counter-terror operations, underscoring the collaborative efforts between J&K Police, Haryana authorities, and central intelligence agencies.
