What is FTX Exchange?
FTX Exchange is a cryptocurrency trading platform founded in 2019 by Alameda Research, a quantitative trading firm that develops specialised algorithms for trading cryptocurrencies. It has topped many trading volume charts and accounts for 30% of market trading volume on major exchanges.
FTX’s extensive trading history demonstrates that they live up to their claim of being an exchange “built by traders, for traders.”
FTX is primarily focused on the derivative and prediction markets, providing a diverse range of futures, options, and volatility products at competitive trading rates and discounts to specific users.
Over the last year, FTX Exchange has grown significantly, surpassing the likes of KuCoin and Kraken. They even managed to take market share away from Coinbase, the leading cryptocurrency exchange in the United States. This is due in part to the substantial venture capital funding that FTX has received.
