CCTV Captures Firing Outside Disha Patani’s Bareilly Home; Shooters Killed in Ghaziabad Encounter
Bareilly police have confirmed that CCTV footage shows two gunmen opening fire outside Bollywood actor Disha Patani’s residence on September 11, sparking panic in the city’s Civil Lines area. The incident was followed by another round of firing outside the same home on September 12.
The shooters, identified as Ravindra alias Kallu and Arun—members of the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang—were later killed in a police encounter near Ghaziabad’s Tronica City on Wednesday. According to officials, the men were tracked after being spotted on the same motorcycle used in the September 12 attack. The joint operation, conducted by the Delhi Police, Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF), and Haryana STF, ended with both assailants critically injured. They later succumbed to their wounds in hospital.
Hours after the deaths, gangster Rohit Godara issued a statement calling the encounter a “defeat of Sanatan.” He accused political parties of exploiting religion for votes and warned that those behind the operation would “not be spared.”
Investigators believe the firing was linked to alleged remarks concerning Hindu spiritual leaders Premanand Maharaj and Anidruddhacharya Maharaj. Police reports indicate that several rounds were discharged, including two aerial shots, around 4:30 a.m. A social media post from the Goldy Brar gang claimed responsibility and issued threats to members of the film industry, naming specific individuals.
However, Disha Patani’s father, Jagdish Patani, rejected claims that the attack targeted his daughter. Speaking to ANI, he clarified that her remarks had been “misrepresented” and wrongly tied to Premanand Ji Maharaj. Police have since confirmed that the intended target of the attack was Jagdish Patani himself, not the actor.
Authorities continue to investigate the wider links of the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang, which has been associated with multiple cases of extortion and violence across North India.
