The Kerala Story, one of the most popular and divisive films of the year, made over Rs 231 crore at the box office. The Sudipto Sen-directed movie faced criticism from a variety of quarters for being Islamophobic and reportedly making untrue claims of 32,000 Keralan women who were converted to Islam and sent to Syria.
Against all odds, the Adah Sharma-starring film was a success. The teenage actress recently posted some behind-the-scenes images of her character Shalini on her social media accounts. She appeared in the photographs wearing a dark, tough attire against a barren landscape.
She posted a lot of close-up pictures of her face, which showed that it was badly dry and cracked. In the post, Adah Sharma asserted that everything was true. The solution to dry, cracked lips like these is “Sunkissed, After and Before from #TheKeralaStory.” She continued, “Dehydrate for 40 hours in minus 16 degrees.” PS: The mattress was preserved so that we could practise falling. But we didn’t use it. We also got chila hua elbows and bruised knees, but it was all worth it. The hair is held in place with safety pins and tight plaits in the final image. The actress has also expressed her gratitude to fans for their support of The Kerala Story.
Woww 4th weekend and so many of you in theatres for #TheKeralaStory!! read her most recent tweet. I’m extremely thankful. I’m grateful to everyone in the business who has given me roles in every film, advertisement, and music video so that I may now see this in theatres.
