At the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw competition, creating history for Indian athletics. The ‘golden kid of Indian athletics’ achievement of winning a gold medal in this illustrious competition cemented his place in history.
Neeraj’s outstanding accomplishment happened in the wee hours of August 28 as he faced up against rivals from around the globe. He demonstrated tremendous skill by throwing brilliantly on his second attempt, measuring 88.17 meters, sealing his victory in the competition.
With this tremendous effort, Neeraj not only won the gold medal, but also cemented his position as an international pathfinder for Indian sports.
