Reliance Jio Partners with Google to Offer Free ₹35,100 AI Pro Plan for Select 5G Users
Reliance Jio has announced a landmark collaboration with Google to bring premium artificial intelligence tools to Indian consumers through the Google AI Pro plan, worth ₹35,100 per user. The offer will initially be available for select Jio 5G users aged 18 to 25 and is expected to roll out nationwide in the coming months.
Bringing AI to Every Indian Household
In what’s being called one of India’s largest consumer rollouts of AI-powered services, the partnership aims to make advanced AI capabilities accessible to millions of users. This initiative marks the next phase of Jio’s digital transformation journey — from revolutionizing mobile data access to now driving AI adoption at scale.
The collaboration was jointly announced by Reliance Industries and Google on Thursday. Both companies described it as a strategic step toward “empowering every Indian citizen and enterprise with intelligent tools to create, innovate, and grow.”
What Users Will Get
Under this offer, eligible Jio users will receive an 18-month free subscription to Google AI Pro, which includes access to:
-
Gemini 2.5 Pro – Google’s latest multimodal AI model
-
Nano Banana & Veo 3.1 – advanced AI tools for image and video generation
-
Notebook LM – a note-based AI assistant for study and research
-
2 TB of Google Cloud Storage
Users can activate the subscription directly through the MyJio app, where eligibility will be automatically verified.
A Strategic Push Toward AI Empowerment
Reliance Jio’s move represents more than just a promotional offer — it’s a strategic investment in India’s AI ecosystem. Over the last decade, Jio has transformed how Indians access mobile internet, while Google’s Android ecosystem has accelerated smartphone adoption. Together, the two companies now aim to democratize AI for both individuals and enterprises.
The partnership will also expand into the enterprise sector through Reliance Intelligence, which will serve as Google Cloud’s go-to-market partner for the Gemini Enterprise AI platform. This suite will help Indian businesses automate operations and develop intelligent digital agents.
Boosting India’s AI Infrastructure
Beyond software access, Reliance and Google plan to collaborate on AI infrastructure development in India. The initiative includes deploying Google’s Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) — specialized hardware accelerators that enable large-scale AI model training and deployment. This move is expected to benefit startups, researchers, and enterprises working in AI innovation.
Leaders Speak
Mukesh D. Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, emphasized the broader mission of the partnership:
“Through our collaboration with long-term partners like Google, we aim to make India not just AI-enabled but AI-empowered — where every citizen and enterprise can harness intelligent tools to create, innovate, and grow.”
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, echoed this sentiment, calling Reliance a “longstanding partner” in India’s digital transformation:
“Together we’ve brought affordable internet access and smartphones to millions. Now, we are bringing this collaboration into the AI era.”
