OpenAI Brings Spotify, Canva, and More Apps to ChatGPT — Making It a One-Stop AI Hub

OpenAI has unveiled one of its biggest updates yet for ChatGPT, giving users the ability to access and use popular apps like Spotify, Canva, Coursera, Figma, and Zillow directly from within the chatbot. The announcement came during the company’s DevDay event, where OpenAI also introduced its new Apps SDK, a toolkit that enables developers to build and integrate third-party services into ChatGPT.

This marks a major leap toward making ChatGPT an all-in-one AI assistant, allowing users to perform everyday tasks — from creating playlists and designing graphics to finding apartments or exploring online courses — without switching between multiple websites or applications.

Do More Without Leaving ChatGPT

The new integrations make ChatGPT a true productivity hub. For example, users can now say:

  • “Spotify, make a playlist for my morning run,” and ChatGPT will generate a custom playlist.

  • “Canva, design a promotional post for my bakery,” and Canva will instantly produce a design preview right inside the chat.

To use these tools, users simply need to connect their app accounts to ChatGPT once, after which they can issue natural language commands as part of a conversation.

Spotify noted that the experience is still evolving, saying, “It’s early days, so while we might not be able to deliver on every request just yet, we’ll continue to refine and improve the experience over time.”

Creative, Educational, and Practical Uses

Among the new integrations, Canva stands out for its powerful creative tools. Within ChatGPT, users can ask Canva to generate designs, tweak them with simple text commands like “make the text bold” or “change the background color,” and then open the project in Canva for final edits.

Figma brings collaborative design capabilities, helping users create wireframes, brainstorm layouts, or modify diagrams in real time.

Coursera’s integration takes learning to the next level — ChatGPT can now suggest personalized courses, lectures, and study materials directly from Coursera’s database based on user queries and conversations.

Meanwhile, Zillow focuses on property searches. Users can ask ChatGPT for results like “three-bedroom houses with a garden near Delhi” and instantly get listings with prices, photos, and location maps.

More Apps and Developer Tools on the Way

OpenAI confirmed that this is just the beginning. More integrations are expected soon, including Uber, DoorDash, Target, OpenTable, Peloton, Tripadvisor, and AllTrails. These additions will allow users to book rides, order food, make restaurant reservations, shop online, or plan outdoor adventures — all within ChatGPT’s interface.

Later this year, OpenAI also plans to open developer submissions for new ChatGPT apps. Once approved, these apps will appear in a dedicated app directory, with a monetization model in the works to help developers earn from their creations.

A Step Toward the Future of AI Assistants

With these integrations, ChatGPT is transforming from a conversational AI into a fully interactive digital ecosystem, bridging the gap between chat-based assistance and real-world functionality.

As OpenAI continues to expand its partnerships and developer tools, ChatGPT is rapidly positioning itself as the central platform for everyday digital tasks — from creativity and learning to entertainment and productivity.
